Tulia, Texas--Paul Allan Cox, 73, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013, at the Nolan Nursing and Rehab Center in Sweetwater, Texas. Paul was born October 4, 1939 in Jayton, Texas, the son of Alton and Ruby (Williams) Cox. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1958. Paul earned his business degree from Abilene Christian University and had a career in banking and agribusiness. He met his beautiful bride, Patsy Ruth (Miller) Cox, in Goldthwaite, TX. They were married on October 5, 1963 and adopted three children through the High Plains Children’s Home in Amarillo, TX. Paul loved to spend time with his family and friends and was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ and an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. He earned his private pilot’s license and loved flying. He also enjoyed country gospel music. Paul is survived by two daughters, Torey, married to Nathan Ehlert and living in Sweetwater, TX and Casey, married to Kurt Zobrist and living in Leesburg, VA, and one son, Colby, married to Jenny Cox and living in Marietta, GA; seven grandchildren, Garret Ehlert, David Ehlert, Jonathan Cox, Lincoln Cox, Colton Cox, Cameron Zobrist and Caden Zobrist; a sister, Pegene, married to Gary Campbell and living in Fort Worth, TX; and many loved extended family members and close friends. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Ruth (Miller) Cox and his parents Alton and Ruby (Williams) Cox. Funeral services for Paul Cox will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel, 201 W. Broadway, Tulia, TX 79088. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, TX. Memorial donations may be made to High Plains Children’s Home at PO Box 7448 in Amarillo, TX 79114-7448.
