Laverne Cagle (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Laverne Cagle, 85, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in Tulia. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the funeral home. Laverne was born August 5, 1927 in Swisher County to Floyd Oliver and Amanda Amerson. She attended schools at the Salem Community and graduated from Happy High School. She also graduated from Lippert’s Business College. She was a homemaker. She married Dean Cagle on July 20, 1946. He died October 20, 2004. Her family includes two daughters: Linda Hurt and Vesta Chitty, both of Tulia, one sister: Erdean Pickel of The Woodlands, Texas , one brother: Coy Gene Amerson of Eloy, Arizona, five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, four sisters and one grandson: Floyd Dean Hurt.
