Hulon Wall, age 85, went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 18, 2008 in Plainview, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the First Baptist Church sanctuary with Dr. Travis Hart officiating and Rev. Kenneth Coates assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Hulon was born on May 24, 1922 in Winnsboro, Texas. He attended schools in Brownfield and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1940. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy during WWII and served on the U.S.S. KIDD in the Pacific Theater from June 1944 thru June 1946. After serving his country he returned to Clovis, New Mexico. He moved to Lubbock, where he managed Plains Gas and was in the construction business. He later owned several business’s in Lubbock. He married Claudeen Moore on June 9, 1948 in Lubbock. They moved to Plainview in 1966 and purchased what is known today as High Plains Pavers, which he owned and operated for 31 years. Many of the core staff stayed on with Hulon and he considered them as an extension of his family. He served on the Board of Directors for First National Bank for many years, and currently served on the Board of Directors of State National Bank. He was also the Past-President of the Association of General Contractors of Texas. He was very generous and compassionate business man that donated the services of his company to the community that he loved so much. He will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him. Survivors include his wife, Claudeen Wall of Plainview; three sons, Larry and Linda of Denison, Texas, Dickie and Cathy of Plainview, Bryan of Amarillo; a daughter, Avonna Kaye and Rick Milloway of Tulia; three brothers, Laverne Wall and wife Rose of Lubbock, TC Wall and wife Peggy of Plainview, Garry Wall of Plainview; three sisters, Janie Johns of Lubbock, El Wanda Allmon and husband C.J. of Archer City, Texas, Geneva Graves of Bethany, Oklahoma; Ten Grandchildren, Twenty-Seven Great Grandchildren, and Three Great-Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Ethel Wall, and a brother Durward Wall. The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview.
