Bonnie Throckmorton, 95, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at First Assembly of God with Rev. Nelson Gonzalez officiating and Rev. Neil Unwin assisting. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the funeral home. Bonnie was born September 27, 1917 to Merle and Nora Anderson in Mt. Vernon, Texas. She came to west Texas in a covered wagon around the age of 6. She grew up harvesting cotton. When she was 17 years old she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a revival being held in Crosbyton, Texas. At that same revival she met E.D. Throckmorton who would later become her husband. She married Eugene Throckmorton on May 17, 1937 in Lubbock, Texas. Together they served 59 years in ministry. She was a devoted preacher’s wife, helping him in whatever way she could. Every year she would read her bible all the way through. She was a talented singer, and was requested at many district and national conventions. Bonnie was homemaker, an excellent cook and the most loving mother. Many people have been touched by her sweet spirit and will miss her greatly. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene “E.D.” Throckmorton, her parents, Merle & Nora Anderson; one brother, J.R. Anderson; and one sister, Edith Mize. She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Howard & husband Ferral of Ardmore, OK, Gwen Thrasher & husband Albert of Plainview, TX; one son, Kenneth Throckmorton & wife Naomi of Marlow, OK; one sister, Winona Shelton of Levelland, TX; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
