Jimmie Dan Spruill (Plainview)

Jimmie Dan Spruill, Sr., 63, of Plainview began his heavenly family reunion February 6, 2013. He died at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Family visitation will be Friday, February 8, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at College Heights Baptist Church with JohnMark Spruill and Pastor Don Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, Texas at 3:30 P.M. the same day. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Jimmie was born in Memphis, Texas to Jimmie (Sonny) and Evelyn Geraldine (Jeri) Wainwright Carter on June 29, 1949. He graduated high school at Memphis High in 1969 and attended Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX and graduated Criswell Bible Institute in Dallas, TX in 1975. Jimmie married Lonella Fern Tooke on April 17, 1970 in Memphis, Texas. They lived in Plainview, Dallas, Memphis, Hardesty, OK and Amarillo before moving back to Plainview. In August of 1979, they opened and operated Rent America of Plainview, that is now being run by their son, JohnMark Spruill. He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church, and served on a trade organization board of directors for Texas Association of Rental Agencies (TARA), and a non-profit charitable organization North India New Life Society, Inc (NINLS). He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie (Sonny) Spruill; his brother, Donnie Ray Spruill; his sons, Jimmie Dan Spruill, Jr. and JonathanAndrew Spruill. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lonella; his son, JohnMarkSpruill and wife, Christina and daughter, Autumn; and his mother, Jeri Carter all of Plainview. He is also survived by his brother, David Dean Spruill & wife Phyllis of Tulia, TX. He was a mentor and father-figure to Paul Thankachen and wife, Manu and their children, Issac & Jeremy,all of Plainview. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family members.
