Rev. James Houston Willborn, 73, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis House and Rev. Doug Kirk officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the funeral home. James was born August 12, 1939 in Edinburg, Texas to N.B. and Hildy Willborn. He attended schools in Plainview and then enlisted into the U.S. Army and served for 3 years. He returned home and was a Welding Supply Salesman. James was called into the ministry and served in the Northwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church and served 9 different communities over the last 30 years before retiring in 2004. God brought James back to life 5 different times so he could continue his ministry. James married Norma Carlene Lumpkins in 1958 in Plainview. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard Willborn: and one sister, Velma Lee Willborn. James is survived by his wife of 54 years, Norma Carlene Lumpkins of Plainview; one daughter, Keila Wesley and husband David of Plainview; two sons, Barney Willborn and wife Sherry of Stratford, Quint Willborn and wife Lisa of Lubbock; one brother, Harvey Willborn of Plainview; 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, 8 Step-Grandchildren, 20 Step Great Grandchildren, 2 Step Great Great Grandchildren.
