Orval Rollins (Plainview)

Orval Rollins, 88, of Plainview, died on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Doug Yates, officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Orval was born August 30, 1924 to Jesse and Iva Rollins in Snyder, TX. He grew up and attended schools in Snyder. He served in the US Marines during WWII. He moved to Plainview in 1947. He worked for Green Machinery until starting Rollins Drilling Co. in 1957. Orval was an avid fisherman and a charter member of the Plainview Bass Club. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Evelyn (Walding) Rollins. He is survived by two sons, Larry Rollins & wife Melinda of Plainview, TX, and Reggie Rollins & wife Carrie of Plainview, TX; one brother, Garland Rollins & wife Laura of Plainview, TX; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Runningwater Draw Care Center, P.O. Box 409, Olton, Texas 79064 or a charity of your choice.
