Laverne Cunningham (Plainview)

Laverne Cunningham, 90, of Plainview died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at College Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Don Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, March 15, 2013 at the funeral home. Laverne was born June 2, 1922 to Homer and Ludie McCay in Turkey, TX. She graduated from Plainview High School. She married Alvin Cunningham on November 15, 1941. He preceded her in death. She worked for Southwestern Bell as a phone operator for two years. She later worked for Plainview ISD cafeterias for 25 years. She is preceded in death by her husband; one granddaughter, Kasey Curtis Hill; and one great grandson, Nathan Telegdy She is survived by one daughter, Martha Curtis & husband Bryan; two sons, Bill Cunningham & wife Colleen, and Jerry Cunningham all of Plainview; four grandchildren, Misty & Tom Telegdy of Cleveland, OH, Cody & Sara Curtis of Plainview, Gary & Caryn Cunningham of Colorado Springs, CO and John Cunningham & Fiancee Amy Leonard of Austin; eleven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
