Kornerstone Funeral Directors 201 W. Broadway St. Tulia, Texas 79088 806.995.1701 March 7, 2008 Kress, Texas—Jr. Marquez, 63, of Kress, died Friday, March 7, 2008 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008 in the Church of the Holy Spirit in Tulia with Father Tony Neusch, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008 at the funeral home. Mr. Marquez was born April 28, 1944 in Hebbronville, Texas where he grew up and attended schools until he moved to Kress in 1957 and attended Kress High School. He married Juanita Guerra on April 3, 1962 in Tulia. He farmed in Kress for over 35 years with Glen Jolly and Neil Jolly. He has been farming with Marquez Farms the last 11 years in the Claytonville area. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Kress. Survivors include his wife; Juanita Marquez of Kress, two sons; David Marquez of Kress and Michael Marquez of Amarillo, one daughter; Dianna Vuittonet of Kress, his mother; Julia Marquez of Plainview, seven brothers; Ismeal Marquez and Manuel Marquez of Hebbronville, Texas, Mike Marquez, Domingo Marquez, Santos Marquez and Juan Leal all of Plainview and Alfredo Marquez of Falfurrias, Texas, two sisters; Marta Sandoval of Olton and Maria Torres of Plainview, four grandchildren; Eric Marquez, Krista Marquez, Gregory Marquez and Trey Vuittonet and two great grandchildren; Kristopher Vuittonet and Haley Marquez. He is preceded in death by his father; Gumercindo Marquez, Sr. and a sister; Margarita Marquez.
