Christine Margarettee Bennett, 94, of Plainview was called home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2013 following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 25, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the funeral home. Mrs. Bennett was born on November 13, 1918 at home just north of Hale Center, Texas. She attended Lippert’s Business College. She married Vinson Bennett on November 12, 1939. They farmed the Robinson Farm until moving to Providence in 1943 to farm the A.L. Moore Farm until 1947. They then returned to the Robinson Farm where they remained until retiring in 1976. Christine was a devoted wife and mother known for her loving servant heart. She was dedicated to the work of the Lord serving in the prison ministry and visiting new comers to Plainview. She especially loved her family, Church and Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. Following Vinson’s death in 1986, Christine moved into the Christian Manor where she greatly enjoyed the friendship and fellowship of fellow residents. Her years there were extended by the association and help of her special friend and care giver Birdie Owens. She is survived by one son: Billy Mack Bennett & wife Gwen; one daughter: Teresa Eagon & husband Douglas; daughter-in-law: Leta Moore & husband Randall; Grandchildren: Missy & Johnny Chumley, Brad & Andrea Bennett, Chad & Teena Bennett, Cody & Angie Bennett, Aaron & Memory Bennett, Cassie & David Gonzales, Chandra & Rusty Roush and Devan & Matt Twyman; nineteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Robinson and wife Ima; and special nieces & nephews: Melvetta & Ron Roberts and Randy & Mary K. Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents: William & Ruby Garner Robinson; husband: Vinson Bennett; son: Tommy Bennett; two sisters: Lois Baldwin Morrison and Cleo Bennett; three brothers-in-law: Fluff Baldwin, Cletus Morrison and Melvin Bennett.
