Bobbie Gean Pierson (Plainview)

Bobbie Gean Pierson, 85, of Petersburg, died on March 31, 2013 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Petersburg with Rev. Oliver and Paula Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the funeral home. Bobbie was born March 7, 1928 to Roosevelt and Okle Young in Osage County, Oklahoma. She graduated from Spade High School in 1946 and attended Draughn’s Business School. She rode a bicycle and delivered telegrams for Western Union. She married Virgal Irlo Pierson on December 21, 1947 in Littlefield, TX. She was previously a member of Southside Assembly of God and was currently a member of the First United Methodist Church of Petersburg. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil Pierson; her daughter, Linda Sue Pierson; one brother, Marshall Young, one sister, Pauline Bridges, and two special friends, Dorthea Humphries and Lola Putnam; one granddaughter, Kelly Pierson, and a great-grandson, Mason Emert. She is survived by three sons, Gerald Pierson & wife Wanell of Midland, TX, Bob Pierson & wife Chris of Petersburg, TX, and Don Pierson & wife Nancy of Midland, TX; four sisters, Mary Bretey, Ruth Mitchell, Rosie Hall & husband Gearld, and Christine Bridges; eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial may be made to First United Methodist Church of Petersburg, PO Box 190, Petersburg, Texas 79250.
