Tulia, Texas—Fern Mott, 89, died Saturday, March 15, 2008 in Clinton, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia with Rev. Charles Davenport, a retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Fern was born December 11, 1918 in Manitou, Oklahoma to William T. and Hassie Austin. She grew up at Manitou and attended schools at Laing, OK. She married Troy T. Mott on December 24, 1934. They lived in Plainview from 1955-1960 when they moved to Tulia. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church while living in Tulia. Mr. Mott died July 13, 1995. Fern moved to Clinton, OK in 1998 and was currently a member of the Custer Ave. Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law; Pat Mott in 2007, her parents, her husband, 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law; Betty and Bob Salmon of Clinton, OK and a son; Bill Mott of Plainview, TX, 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity or church.
