Joe D. Waters (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Joe D. Waters, 57, died Friday, April 26, 2013 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in the Tulia Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Rusty Gray, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Vega Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the funeral home. Joe was born on August 14, 1955 in Amarillo to Garner and Evelyn Waters. He lived in several towns in the Panhandle including Amarillo, Slaton Silverton and Tulia. He has lived in Tulia for 35 years. He married Billie Ewers on May 29, 1995 in Tulia. He worked for Tulia Livestock Auction for 20 years and for Wes’ Specialty Service for 7 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Rita Waters and Gail Baggett. His family includes his wife: Billie Waters of Tulia, his children: Christall Waters of Lubbock, Crystal Merritt of Tulia, Stormy Waters of Lubbock, Gloria Johnson of Tulia, Amanda Glasscock of Lubbock, Charles Newbold of Ruidoso, NM and Mikel Mason of Ruidoso, NM, one brother: Garner Lee Waters, Jr. of Amarillo, one sister: Pam Gamble of Kress, 20 grandchildren and 1 great grandson and 1 great granddaughter.
