Gail Smith, 64, formerly of Tulia, died on Monday, May 13, 2013 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 18, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Tulia with Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Gail was born on March 3, 1949 in Plainview to Cecil and Georgia Bell Ferrell. She grew up in Tulia and attended schools there. She became a licensed beautician for many years. She then moved to Levelland and worked for South Plains College as a dorm mom. Many students over the years called her Momma G. She recently moved to Lovington, New Mexico to be closer to her daughter due to health reasons. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulia. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Doris Black. Survivors include her daughter, Stacy Flow of Lovington, NM; a niece, Cecilia Langdon of Lubbock; and a nephew, Nick Black of Borger.
