Joe Fernandez (Tulia)

Joe Fernandez, 68, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 7, 2013 at the Kornerstone Funeral Chapel in Tulia with Harold Drake officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Joe was born on April 16, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Tulia and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Frances on January 13, 2011 in Tulia. Survivors include his wife, Frances; one son, Joe Fernandez, Jr of Las Vegas, Nevada; 3 daughters, Juliet Pearl , JoAnn Fernandez and Janet Reyes, all of Tulia; 3 brothers, Zaragoza Pena Jr. of Crane,TX, Tomas Pena and Oscar Pena, both of Tulia ; four sisters, Maria Elena Vega of Mission, TX, Mary Lou Contreras of Odessa, Jessie Pena and Sonya Comans, both of Tulia; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
