Janie McClurg (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Janie McClurg, 91, died Tuesday, April 9, 2008 at Tulia Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 12, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Terry Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Janie was born on August 16, 1916 in Swisher County to RN and Julia Adams. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1933. She married Elmer McClurg on February 4, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1982. She owned McClurg Farm which has been owned and operated in her family for 107 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tulia. Survivors include two sons, Weldon McClurg and wife Barbara of Tulia, Eldon McClurg of Tulia; three grandchildren, Dudley McClurg and wife Penny of Tulia, Julie Brantley and husband Steven of Plainview, Misty Johnson and husband Russell of Plainview; and seven great grandchildren.
