Maxine Rebecca Doss Keim died on her 87th birthday, July 2, 2013. She was born July 2, 1926 to Morley Cicero Doss and Ola Cox Doss in Pampa, Texas. She married “Jack” John Webster Keim, Jr. on February 14, 1948. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Arnold Doss. She is survived by her husband of the home, one sister-in-law, Audrey Doss of Amarillo, her daughter, Jackie Lynn Keim Driskill and her husband, David of Lubbock; her son, John Morley Keim and his wife, Jerrella of Tulia; daughter, Nancy Ann Keim of Arlington, AZ and her youngest son, Alan Wade Keim and his wife, Michelle of Tulia. Maxine is survived by four grandchildren, Jamison Driskill and his wife Ashley of Austin, Michael Driskill of Houston, Sydney and Nicole Keim both of Tulia. Maxine is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Maxine was graduated from White Deer High School in 1943 then attended Texas Technological College. After their marriage, Jack and Maxine lived in Tulia and reared their four children. Maxine was active in many activities with her children such as 4H, Girl and Boy scouts, Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was a life time member of the First United Methodist Church and the Home Artist Study Club. Maxine’s second career was volunteering at the Swisher County Museum and Archives. She was instrumental in bringing the museum to a new level of excellence. She was actively involved in the Swisher County Historical Commission and traveled to many state conferences and training workshops. In 2008, Jack and Maxine received the Pioneer Spirit Award from the Tulia Chamber of Commerce. Maxine’s family will receive friends and relatives at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors at 201 W. Broadway Ave, Tulia, Texas on Friday, July 5, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 119 N. Briscoe, Tulia on July 6 at 10:00 a.m. Grave side service will be held immediately afterward at Rose Hill Cemetery, Tulia, Texas.
