Vernon Rogers (Plainview)

Vernon Rogers, 79, of Plainview, passed away on July 11, 2013 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Johnny McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 Friday evening at the funeral home. Vernon was born April 7, 1934 to Calvin & Ruby Rogers in Eufala, Oklahoma. He married Helen Wolfe on December 31, 1969 in Plainview, TX. He owned and operated Date Street Laundry until he retired in 2011. Vernon loved to go fishing and bowling. He was a member of the Men’s Bowling Association. He will always be remembered for loving the people closest to him, his family. Vernon is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Helen Rogers of Plainview, TX; one daughter, Janet Kamp & husband Bill of Denton, TX; one son, Steve Carlisle & wife Lesle of Plainview, TX; two brothers, Jimmy Rogers of Amarillo, TX, and Roger Rogers & wife Dawn of Carleton, TX; two sisters, Dene White & husband Bob of Clovis, NM, and Norma Hooper & husband Frank of Princeton, TX; four grandchildren, Jeremy Kamp, Garrett Carlisle, Tiffany Heath and Abby Long; and four great grandchildren, Jett Ribordy, Landon Heath, Beckett Long, and Tristan Heath.
