Sible Simmons, 77, of Tulia passed away on October 27, 2005 in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2005 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mrs. Simmons was born in Runnels County, Texas on March 27, 1928. She grew up in Rowena and attended schools there. She married Houston Simmons on April 28, 1954 in San Antonio. She moved to Tulia in 1954. She was a homemaker. She worked at the El Camino Restraunt for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and the Women's Auxiliary of the VFW. she taught Vacation Bible School many years and volunteered at the Satilite schools. She is survived by her husband, Houston Simmons of Tulia; two daughters, Renee Simmons of Tulia, Melinda Waldroop of Tulia; three sons, John Simmons of Lubbock, Craig Simmons of Tulia, Bently Simmons of Tulia; two sisters, Adeline Holiday of San Antonio, Ester Simecek of Rowena, Tx; eleven grandchildren,and six great grandchidren. The family suggests memorials to BSA Hospice, 200 NW 7th, Amarillo, Texas 79107.
