Tulia, Texas--Mellody GeorJann Harris, 57, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church in Tulia with Lee Moore officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. in Claude Cemetery in Claude Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mellody was born to Fred and Imogene Harris on April 27, 1956 in Canyon. She was raised on the family’s farm and ranch south of Happy. Above all, Mellody was a special, special angel who touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was a monument of strength and determination. She communicated unconditional love and understanding through her eyes and heart. She was our angel, Hebrews 13:1-2. Survivors include three sisters: Peggy Guthrie of Happy, Shelley Fields and husband Jack of Claude and Polly Chester and husband Mitch of Sudan, one brother: Rodney Harris of Happy, five nieces and eight nephews, twenty great nieces and nephews and one great, great niece and nephew, all of whom she greatly loved and adored, and a devoted family friend and caregiver, Dianne Haney. She is preceded in death by her parents and a niece: Jennifer Runyon. The family suggest memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Tulia, 119 N. Briscoe, Tulia, Texas 79088 or a favorite charity. A visitation will be on Friday, July 26th at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia from 6-7:30 p.m.
