Ruby Belle Wofford (Plainview)

Ruby Belle Wofford, 96, of Plainview passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013. A visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the funeral home followed by a graveside service at 4:00 p.m. in Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Kyle Brock officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Wofford was born on May 7, 1917 in Wise County to Victor Dee & Effie Turner Harris. She worked in retail sales for many years including Jack & Jill, Marse & Son, Anthony’s and Jean’s Dress Shop. Mrs. Wofford served with the Plainview Hospital Auxiliary as a Pink Lady and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church She is survived by one son: Jerry Wofford & wife Retta of Plainview; grandchildren: Kim & Lanny Carthel, Kaci & Gary Tucker, Kurt & Jennifer Wofford, Keila & Joe Gibson, Vicky & Kevin Knapp, Debbie Wofford Stewart, Mark & Amy Leatherman and Kevin & Anna Leatherman; eighteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son: Jimmie Dee Wofford, one daughter: Judy Leatherman; two sisters and two brothers. Memorials may be made to Plainview Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of your choice.
