Velma Faye Tilley Murphy, 85, of Lubbock passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Graveside services will be at 3:00 P.M. in the Spur Memorial Cemetery Chapel with Deacon Bobbie Tilley of Longview, Texas officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, August 26, 2013 at the funeral home. Faye was born on October 11, 1927 in Girard, Texas to Frank and Cecile Hale. She grew up and attended schools in Girard. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She moved to Plainview in 1999 and moved to Lubbock in 2012. She was preceded in death by her husbands, L.C. Tilley and Curtis Murphy; two daughters, Vickie Tilley, Beverly “Cookie” Dickerson; four sons, Billie Tilley, Jackie Tilley, Ronnie Tilley, Donnie Tilley; three brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Kuntz and husband Daryl of Ogilvie, Minnesota; her sons, Sonny Tilley of Dickens, Bobby Tilley and wife Rita of Longview, TX, Bruce Tilley and wife Kathy of Sanger, TX, Roy Tilley and Johnny Tilley of Plainview, Tom Falcon of Plainview; 26 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
