Jerry Virgil Young (Plainview)

Jerry “Bones” Young, 77, of Plainview passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013 at his home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in the Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Ron Brunson officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Jerry was born on October 22, 1935 in Plainview, Texas to Virgil and Edna Young. He grew up in Plainview and graduated from Plainview High School in 1953. He then attended North Texas State for several years. The Young families were Pioneers in the Plainview area and Jerry farmed for many years. He loved to fish and restore classic and antique cars. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Lori Neary and husband James of Columbus, Nebraska; son, Kelly Young and wife Lou Ann of Lubbock, Texas; four granddaughters, Heather, Colleen, Jenny, Hope; and one great-granddaughter, Caitlyn.
