Maria Rivera (Plainview)

Maria Rivera, 48, of Plainview passed away Friday, May 2, 2008 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 5, 2008 at Primera Iglesia Bautista with Rev. Joe Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Rivera was born July 11, 1959 in Plainview, Texas to Crescencio and Virgilia Landeros. She married Carlos Rivera, Jr. on September 29, 1990. Mrs. Rivera worked as a teacher at First Presbyterian Church and was a member of Primera Iglesia Bautista. She is survived by her husband: Carlos Rivera, Jr.; one son: David Andrew Rivera of Plainview; her father: Crescencio Landeros of Harlingen; five brothers: Pedro & Teresa Landeros of Plainview, Mario and Mary Landeros of Plainview, David & Lisa Landeros of Howe, Oklahoma, Avimelet Landeros of Plainview and Jesse Landeros of Plainview; three sisters: Ana Maria Landeros of Plainview, Irma & Noe Valles of Lubbock and Carmen & Jerry Salazar of Plainview. She was preceded in death by her mother: Virgilia Landeros. Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel.
