Tulia, Texas— Will G. “Bill” Hiett, 87, died Friday, September 6, 2013 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 9, 2013 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Don Richards and Mr. Don Martin both of the Primitive Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home. Bill was born April 1, 1926 in Collingsworth County. He graduated from Samnorwood High School. He served in the US Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1946. He returned to Shamrock and married Cliftene Daniel on May 13, 1947. They spent 63 ½ years together before she died in 2010. He was a very faithful and dedicated member of the Primitive Baptist Church. He worked for Tower Service Station and later co-owned A&H Service Station both in Shamrock. He moved his family to Tulia in 1961. He worked for Ziegler and Wimberley Implement until it closed in 1975. He then worked for Scott Tractor in Plainview until he retired in 1988. He then worked for the Tulia ISD as a bus driver until 1998. He is preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Mary Hiett, his wife: Cliftene Hiett, one brother: J.B. Hiett and one great grandchild: Stetson McWilliams. He is survived by two sons: Scott Hiett and wife Sabrina of Lubbock and Brian Hiett of Lubbock, five daughters: Marsha Morris of Lubbock, Brenda Scholl and husband Kevin of San Antonio, Melinda Raymer and husband Ronnie of Lubbock, Amy Brandiger and husband Nathan of Rapid City, SD and Catherine Snowden and husband Mike of Ruidoso, NM, one sister: Ruby Smith of Clovis, NM, fifteen grandchildren: Michael Morris of Lubbock, Denise Padilla of Colorado, Jack Morris of Monahans, Jennifer Hiett of Tahoka, Kimmie Hiett of Lubbock, Keli Hiett of Lubbock, Camryn DiBoni, Taylor DiBoni and Stone DiBoni, all of South Dakota, Kawliga Hiett of Lubbock, Nick Hiett of Tulia, Jeffrey Keaton of Ruidoso, NM, Bailey Keaton of San Antonio, Stormee Keaton of Vaughn, NM and David Raymer of Lubbock, seven great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a lot of wonderful cousins.
