Joe D Mote (Plainview)

Joe Mote, 74, of Plainview passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013. Graveside funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 13, 2013 in Parklawn Memorial Gardens with Dr. Paul Sadler officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 Thursday evening at the funeral home. Joe was born May 18, 1939 to Tilmon and Bertha Mote in Paducah, TX. He started school in Hart Camp and moved to Spade and attended schools there. He graduated from Spade High School in 1957. He married Alma Lee Richards on May 24, 1958 in Spade, Texas. He served in the US Army as a MP for 3 years in Germany. When he returned home he worked for Savage Butane for several years. He moved to Hart and then later to Plainview and worked for H.M. Steel Builders before going out on his own. He constructed Steel Buildings and fences for over 40 years. He retired about 10 years ago. He is preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Tammy & Teresa Mote; and his brother, Coy Dale Mote. He is survived by his wife Alma Mote of Plainview; one daughter, Tonya Bryant & husband Darral of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Erika Sims of Plainview, TX, Erin Whedbee of Iowa Park, TX; and Elizabeth Gonzalez of Ft.
