Tulia, Texas— Mack “Bud” George, 81, died Friday, September 13, 2013 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Helms officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Bud was born May 19, 1932 in Flomot, Texas to Charlie and Myrtle George. He grew up on the Rodgers Ranch before his family moved to Tulia. He attended schools in Tulia. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Wynelle Keeter on June 23, 1956 in Plainview. He worked as a lineman for Swisher Electric for 43 years. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and the VFW. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Woody and Carl George. He is survived by Wynelle George of Tulia; three daughters, Denise Gastineau of Tulia, Vonda Kitchel of Canyon, Renee Colwell of Odessa; one brother, Roy George of Liberal, Kansas; one sister, Maxine Ballard of Lubbock; and five grandchildren, Kristen Kitchel of Amarillo, Zane Hartman of Amarillo, Ryan Hartman of Odessa, Jacob Gastineau of Elk City, Oklahoma, Hannah Gastineau of Tulia. The family suggests memorials to the Meals on Wheels, Calvary Baptist Church, or the VFW.
