Tulia, Texas— Henry Wilson Boston, 96, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the First Baptist Church in Tulia with Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Henry was born February 17, 1917 in Hale Co., Texas to William Wallace and Susie Marion Boston. He grew up in Swisher County just five miles south of Tulia. He married Margarete Bowers on August 28, 1949. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He returned home after the war and farmed for fifty years. Henry was a member of the First Baptist Church. He loved woodworking and building things for his grandchildren and was always there to help his family. The summer vacations the family took together will always be cherished. He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Susie Boston; one son, Charles Boston; four brothers, Andrew Boston, Ben Boston, Floyd Boston, Tommy Boston; one sister, Pearl McColm. Those left to cherish the memories are his wife, Margarete of Lubbock, TX; one son, Fred Boston and his wife Vivian of San Angelo, TX; his two daughters, Sue Gibson and husband Lonnie of Lubbock, TX, Debbie Cypert and husband Larry of Amarillo, TX; one brother, Frank Boston of Tucson, AZ; his half-brother, Jim Ferguson of Waco; two half-sisters, Mary Lou McClellan of Florence, Arizona and Lorene Visser of Bertram, TX.; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
