Janie “Nana” Gonzales, 65, of Denton, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in Dallas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 23, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the funeral home. Janie was born July 17, 1948 in Dilley, Texas. She married Willie Gonzales on December 22, 1965 in Plainview. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband: Willie Gonzales of Denton, TX; two daughters: JoElda Gonzales Pereida of Lubbock, TX, and Brenda Gonzales of Denton, TX; two sons: Edmund Gonzales of Bedford, TX and Eli Gonzales of Denton, TX; five brothers: Raul Valdez and wife Angie of Plainview, TX, David Valdez and Linda of Plainview, TX, Jose Adame of Plainview, TX, Ismael Valdez of Plainview, TX, Roy Valdez, Jr. and wife Liz of Lubbock, TX, three sisters: Eva Aguirre of Plainview, TX, Rosa Valdez of Plainview, TX and Delores Luera of Lubbock, TX and eleven grandchildren.
