JoAnn Underwood (Plainview)

JoAnn Smith Underwood, 82, of Plainview died on Monday, September 23, 2013 in Lubbock. Celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 in the chapel of Kornerstone Funeral Directors with Dale “Jr.” Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. JoAnn was born March 23, 1931 to Claude and Nora Johns Smith. She was raised in and around Idalou and graduated from Idalou High School. She married Glenn Wilburn Underwood on August 28, 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, and five siblings. She is survived by two sons: Galen Underwood of Plainview and Terry Underwood & wife Diane of Plainview; son-in-law: Glen Palmer of Plainview; granddaughter: Jennifer Muncy & husband Stephen of Keller and great granddaughter Berkley Muncy of Keller.
