Ynes Zapata(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Ynes Zapata, 74, died Friday, May 16, 2008 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Tony Neusch, pastor officiating with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2008 at the funeral home chapel. Mr. Zapata worked at Taylor-Evans for over 20 years. Survivors include his wife; Mercedes Zapata, four daughters; Alicia Menchaca of Amarillo, Sylvia Mata of Optima, Oklahoma, Connie Zapata of Tulia and Gloria Zapata of Plainview, four sons; Raoul Zapata of Abilene, David Zapata of Amarillo, Jose Ynes Zapata of Abilene and Daniel Zapata of Amarillo, one brother; Pablo Zapata of Tacoma, Washington, 54 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous great, great grandchildren.
