Tulia, Texas—Dovie Jane Jones Harman, 78, died Saturday, September 28, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. The family will greet guests following the service. There will be a private burial. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Dovie was born December 17, 1934 in Hereford and graduated from Hereford High School. She attended West Texas State University where she met V.H. Harman of Happy. They were married July 3, 1955. Upon completion of his military service, the Harman’s returned to Tulia where V.H. was involved in the grain elevator business and Dovie pursued her passion as a homemaker. Dovie was a member of the Progressive Study Club and various bridge clubs in the area. Dovie was preceded in death by her parents: A.T. and Dovie Jones, her brothers: Elmer Jones, George Jones and J.P. Jones, her sisters: Gladys Benson and Helen Brown and an infant granddaughter: Lindsey Paige McLean. Survivors include: V.H. Harman, two daughters: Celeste McLean and husband Gene and Cherlyon Jackson and husband Jimmy, her grandchildren: Meghan Elizabeth McLean, Colin Thomas McLean and Jantz Harman Jackson and several nieces and nephews.
