Pearl Morris, 90, of Kress, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 in Kress. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Kress with Rev. Bob Saul officiating and Pastor Donna Lindley assisting. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Pearl was born March 5, 1923 to Joseph and Roxie Evans in Haskell, TX. She grew up and attended schools in Kress, Texas. She later attended Lipperts Business College. Pearl married A.D. Morris on June 8, 1991. He preceded her in death. She was a seamstress all of her life. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by two stepdaughters, Edna Evans & husband Billy of Kress, TX, and Virginia McMahan of Lubbock, TX; one stepson, James Morris & wife Nelda of Lockney, TX; three nephews, Jim Saul & wife Barbara of Quitaque, TX, Bob Saul & wife Nancy of Ft. Worth, TX, and Billy Evans and wife Edna of Kress, TX; four nieces Eve Burdett & husband Greg of Waxahachie, TX, Winnie Fleming & husband Dwayne of Plainview, TX, Irene Caudle of Lubbock, TX, and Betty McGary of Mayfield, KY; thirteen step Grandchildren and one step great grandchild.
