David Wayne Gary (Plainview)

David Wayne Gary, 71, of Plainview, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 with Pastor Ed LeCompte officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A family visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013. David was born February 6, 1942 to William and Clefa Mae Gary in Amarillo, TX. He graduated Hale Center High School. He married Marilyn Minges on July 20, 1973 in Cincinnati, OH. He Joined the United States Air Force in 1960 and served until 1964. He worked for Southwestern Grain as a programmer and accounting for 15 years. He later worked for TDCJ as a guard and retired in 2007. He collected a assortment of rocks and coins. He was a past member of the Rock and Mineral Club. He also served as the past president of the local TDCJ Union. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Deanne Rodriguez; his parents; two sisters, Darlene Stiles and Patsy Schale. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Gary of Plainview, TX; his son, David Gary II and wife Casandra of Plainview, TX; his daughter, Andrea Sulak and husband Chad of West, TX; seven grandchildren, David Gary III, Dalex Gary, Daelon Gary, and Deynn Lillian Mae Gary, all of Plainview, TX, Robert Sulak of West, TX, Chris Ybarra & wife Rochelle of Big Springs, TX and Haegan of Big Springs, TX; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Maddox Ybarra.
