Alva Jo Phillips (Plainview)

Alva Jo Phillips, 88, of Plainview passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 in Plainview. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 A.M., Monday, October 21, 2013 in Lockney Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview with Rev. Don Robertson officiating and Rev. Dennis Butler assisting. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-5 P.M. at Kornerstone. Alva Jo was born on July 31, 1925 in Montague, Texas to David and Eula McDonald. She married R.C. Phillips in 1946. He preceded her in death in 1990. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. They farmed in the Providence Community. She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church. She loved to make ceramics. She is survived by numerous nephews and nieces including Dale and Katherine McDonald of Plainview, Texas who served as her caregivers.
