Tulia, Texas—Lee Burton, 86, died Monday, May 26, 2008 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Matthew Veals, pastor of New Fellowship Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Burton was born April 27, 1922 in Brenham, Texas. He attended schools in Brenham and Paducah. He married Marie Cole in Paducah in 1950. They moved to Tulia in 1962. He was a farmer and he also worked as a gas station attendant. He was a member of the New Fellowship Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter; Darlene North of Tulia, four grandchildren; Teresa Tinner of Canyon, Leonard Tinner and Melashon Tennison of Lubbock, Rodney Tinner of Amarillo and Timothy and Deaundes Tinner of Amarillo, a great granddaughter; Jade Tinner of Canyon and twelve other great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren, a brother-in-law; Fred Freeman of Waco, a sister-in-law and husband; Jeanette and William Reed of Waco, a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Marie Burton died July 9, 2006 and his parents Jim Burton and Lizzie Goree. Memorials may be made to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
