Fairy Hickman(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Fairy Hickman, 79, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Terry Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mrs. Hickman was born January 6, 1929 in Tillman County, Oklahoma. She grew up there and graduated from Grandfield High School where she played basketball. She moved to Tulia in the late 1940’s. She married Bob Hickman on January 1, 1950. She worked in Tulia as a realtor, a secretary and a bookkeeper. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She loved to play golf and play bridge. Survivors include one daughter; Susan Donnell of McKinney, one son; Tom Hickman of Lubbock, two sisters; Jennie Hipp of Amarillo and Mary Jane Harris of Wichita Falls, three grandchildren; Amber Koke of McKinney, Wade Donnell of Paradise and Robert Hickman of Lubbock and four great grandchildren; April Donnell and Natalie Donnell of Paradise and Savannah Koke and Emmy Koke of McKinney. She is preceded in death by her husband; Bob Hickman died March 27, 1990, two brothers; Earl Overton and Jack Overton and three sisters; Pauline Neal, Marion Slack and an infant sister.
