Dean Burson (Tulia)

Silverton, Texas—Dean Burson, 89, died Monday November 4, 2013 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the First Baptist Church in Silverton with Rev. G.J. Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Silverton Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Dean was born on November 17, 1923 in Silverton to Aubrey and Della Griffith. She was raised in Silverton. She married Johnnie Burson on October 27, 1939 in Hollis, OK. She was a housewife and worked on the family ranch. She is preceded in death by her husband: Johnnie Burson and her daughter and son-in-law: Judy and Carroll Welch. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: John and Beverly Burson of Roswell, NM and Jimmy and Rhenda Burson of Silverton, two sisters: Martha Hawk of Silsbee and Mary Jane Junod of Arlington, nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Silverton Public Library.
