John Lane Ballard (Plainview)

John Lane Ballard, 66, of Lubbock, passed away on November 7, 2013 in Lubbock. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 11, 2013 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. John Ballard, Associate pastor of the First Baptist Church in Lubbock officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. John was born on December 29, 1946 of Lubbock, Texas to John Fletcher and Elsie Elaine Ballard. He grew up in Rochester, Texas and attended schools there. He attended and graduated from Tarleton State University. He taught at Burlington High School in Emporia, Kansas for several years. He then got his Masters Degree from Oklahoma State University. He lived in Idalou for many years before moving to Lubbock. He worked in sales. He was a faithful member of the Downtown Bible Class of Lubbock. He was preceded in death by his parents Fletcher and Elaine Ballard and a granddaughter, Sydney Ballard. He is survived by his wife Dickie Holcomb Ballard; two sons, Kent Ballard of Plainview, Kole Ballard of Perryton; one sister, Patsy Lefevre and husband Steve of Rotan; and two granddaughters, Abby Ballard and Emily Ballard of Colorado City, Texas. The family suggests memorials to the charity of your choice.
