Herbert Berner (Kress)

Kress, Texas--Herbert Berner, 76, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2005 in Kress. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, November 20, 2005 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia with Rev. Gerald Pesch, pastor of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tulia officiating. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. Mr. Berner was born April 11, 1929 in Kress, Texas. He grew up and attended schools there. He married Jean Yowell on January 13, 1951 in Plainview. He farmed all his life in Kress until he retired in 1993. Survivors include: His Wife; Jean Berner of Kress, Texas; His Mother, Barbara Berner of Kress, Texas; One Daughter, Dianna Davis of San Antonio, Texas; Four Sons, Chris Berner of Roll, Arizona, David Berner of Cayuga, Indiana, Bill Berner of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Bob Berner of Happy, Texas. Also, Two Sisters, Allene Haygood of Kress, Texas and Bernice Shuping of Lubbock, Texas, Nine Grandchildren and Six Great, Grandchildren. Family and friends visitation will be held from 4-6 pm Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia.
