Valerie Owensby (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Valerie Owensby, 50, died Friday, November 15, 2013 in Tulia. A memorial services will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at the American Legion Building in Tulia with Rev. Noe Gonzales, pastor of Faith Tabernacle Church, Tulia and Rev. Oscar Chavez, Chaplain of Area Community Hospice, Plainview, officiating. Cremation services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Valerie was born on May 20, 1963 in Pampa to Tommy Clem and Priscilla Marie Owensby. She loved to ride motorcycles and worked for the Job Corp. She lived in Tulia since October 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Bennie Leon Owensby. Her family includes two sisters: Linda Morris and husband Neal and Wanda Owensby, all of Tulia. Her nieces and nephews and their families: Billy and Tanya Rains of Amarillo, Eric and Robyn Rains and their daughter: Olivia Rains of Amarillo, Gretta and David Ballard and their sons: Brennen, Brandon and Bryce Ballard of Plainview, Priscilla and Ralph Hanson and their children: Madison, Nichlos, Little Ralph and Maylee Hanson of Goth, Texas, Bennie Leon Owensby, II of Colorado, Brian Michael Owensby of Colorado and Eddie Tyree of Colorado. Honorary family members: Vernon and Linda Morris of Tulia, Fred and Cindy Morris of Tulia and Mary Dobkins of Illinois and her Special Dog: Chopper.
