Lois Lee Short, 89, left this earth on November 21, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 25, 2013 at Kornerstone Chapel with Dr. Silas E. Short officiating assisted by Mr. Johnny McDonald. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Lois was born March 2, 1924 to Jeff & Gesina Lee in Rotan, TX. She graduated from Littlefield High School in 1941. Later she graduated from Texas Tech with a BS Degree in Physical Education. She and her husband met while attending Tech and were married in September of 1948. They had a long happy marriage of 61 years. He preceded her in death in October of 2009. Lois taught girls PE at Estacado Jr. High for 23 years. She enjoyed her years as a PE teacher and cheerleader sponsor. She really liked to participate in the sports and activities with her students. There were many things of interest to her. She was a member of 9th and Columbia Church of Christ and taught Bible classes and other works of church. She like to sew, read, and do crafts (such as flop eared rabbits), travel, bridge clubs, cooking, and granddaughter sitting. She made a crazy quilt embellished with embroidery beads, old buttons, lace and tie tack of Phils, sentimental and old jewelry, finished at age 87. She leaves a daughter, Cindy Cox & husband Galon of Stephenville, TX; granddaughters, Denise Boedeker & husband Jason of Weatherford, TX, Melissa Rogers & husband Richard of Bedford, TX; four great grandchildren, London Rogers, Quinton, Gabby & Molly Boedeker. She is preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Quinton & Steve Short; her parents; two sisters & three brothers, and friends.
