Helen Melton (Plainview)

Helen Melton, 88, of Plainview passed away on November 29, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 2, 2013 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Steve Gauntt, pastor of Garland Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Floydada Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Helen was born on November 29, 1925 in Floydada to Roe and Vera Jones. She grew up and attended schools in Floydada. Helen married E.R. Melton on September 9, 1944 in Floydada. She was a farmer’s wife and a homemaker. She loved to bake and make canned goods. Helen was a member of the Garland Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, E.R. Melton of Plainview; one daughter, Dorothy Ann Ball of Alto, N.M.; three sisters, Chris Perry of Amarillo, Clara Elliott of Pampa, Wanda Huckabee of Stephenville; two grandchildren, Alex Ball of Plainview, Melissa LeFerve of Amarillo; and five great grandchildren.
