Irene Vasquez (Plainview)

Irene Vasquez, 90, of Plainview, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 23, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the funeral home. Mrs. Vasquez was born on June 28, 1923 in Hargill, Texas to Rafael and Sara Lopez. She married Roman Vasquez on May 5, 1949 in Hargill, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2007. Mrs. Vasquez was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is survived by four sons: Antonio Vasquez & wife Delores of Plainview, Joe Vasquez & wife Paula of Olton, Raymond Vasquez, Jr. & wife Victoria of Amarillo and Michael Vasquez of Irving; seven daughters: Mary Bryant & husband Randy of Lubbock, Frances Lynn & husband Bruce of Coppell, Olivia Hernandez & husband Guillermo of Plainview, Irene Vasquez of Lubbock, Oralia Goff of Fort Worth, Guadalupe Vasquez of Lubbock and Josie Perez & husband Manuel of Plainview; one brother: Rafael Lopez, Jr. of Big Spring; one sister: Olivia Lopez of Hargill; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
