Tulia, Texas—Ted G. Flores, 65, died Friday, January 3, 2014 in Hale Center. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 6, 2014 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Tulia with Father Marco Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be held at 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the funeral home. Ted was born on October 30, 1948 in Robstown, Texas to Simon and Ramona Flores. He moved to Tulia in the early 1950’s. He attended schools in Tulia. He married Mary Flores and then later married Joyce Luna. He was the head butcher at Daniel’s Market, Jolly Rogers, Piggly Wiggly and Keeter’s, all in Tulia. He is preceded in death by his father: Simon Flores, Sr. and three brothers: Roy Flores, Oscar Flores and Joe Flores. He is survived by his mother: Ramona Gonzalez of Tulia, four daughters: Lisa Flores, Sylvia Flores, Michelle Chavez and Christina Del Toro all of Tulia, two sons: Simon Flores, III of Amarillo and Thomas Flores of Canyon, one brother: Simon Flores, Jr. of Amarillo, two sisters: Janie Derden of Amarillo and Ramona Subealdea of Tulia, 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
