Tulia, Texas—Paul Webb, 85, died January 7, 2014 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Stone, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Paul Howard Webb was born September 30, 1928 in Cooper, Texas to Paul Hampton and Lura May Webb. He grew up in Tulia and attended Tulia schools where he played all sports. He worked in the Dr. Pepper Bottling Plant and later co-owned it with Warner Ward. Then he owned a service station and a car wash in Tulia and later built a car wash in Canyon. He was willed a race horse by his uncle Jim Webb and he developed a passion and love for horse racing and he loved to play golf. He was a member of the Tule Creek Golf Club, a member of the Race Horse Association and a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia. He is survived by his best friend: Dejah Cowan of Tulia, two sisters: Bess McWilliams of Amarillo and Jo Trout of Mesquite, two brothers: E.J. “Jeep” Webb and wife Norma of Borger and Billy Ray Webb and wife Pauline of Amarillo and several nieces and nephews.
