Ginger Tye (Plainview)

Ginger Ann Tye, 67, of Kress passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Kress. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held Monday evening from 6 to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Ginger was born on April 27, 1946 in Lubbock to E.B. “Barney” and Mavis Inez Campbell. She grew up in Hart and in Kress and graduated from Kress High School in 1964. She attended Lipperts Business School. She married Ben J. “Benny” Tye, Jr. on April 3, 1965 in Kress. She was a homemaker and a farmer’s wife. She was a teacher’s substitute for many years after the kids were older. She was very active in Community projects and working with children. She also sold skin care products for several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kress where she kept the nursery and was very active. Ginger was preceded in death by her father, Barney Campbell. Survivors include her husband, Ben J. “Benny” Tye, Jr. of Kress; three daughters, Michelle Clark and husband Mike of San Antonio, Annette Holcomb and husband Brad of Plainview, Trudi Tucker and husband Chad of Tulia; her mother, Inez Campbell of Plainview; one sister, Kay Harris and husband Jim of Plainview; seven grandchildren, Macy, Tyler, and Trevor Clark, Braeden and Dylan Childress, and Tessa and Destri Tucker; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
