Roger Lynn Mooney, 61, of Plainview passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Northwest Church of Christ with Mr. Hugh Miller officiating and Mr. Noah Hall assisting. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Mooney was born December 6, 1952 in Winfield, Kansas to Dennis and Betty Lou Mooney. His family moved to Hale Center when he was just 4 years old. He graduated from Hale Center High School and then graduated from TSTI. He married Lynnetta Moore on February 7, 1976 in Plainview. He worked for Gibson’s for several years and then Woolco until its closing. He then worked for K-Mart before being recruited over to Wal-Mart where he has worked for the last 26 years. Roger was a true family man and loved to spend time with them. He also loved photography and to go hunting. He was a member of Northwest Church of Christ in Plainview. Roger is survived by his wife Lynnetta Mooney of Plainview; two sons, Brian Mooney and wife Chasity of Kress, Charles Mooney and wife Patty of Plainview; seven grandchildren, Freddie, Landon, Andrew, Joshua, Hannah, Elijah, Madi; his mother, Betty Mooney of Pampa; one brother, Robert Mooney and wife Jaque of Southlake; and a sister, Debbie Neighbors of Miami, Texas.
