Tulia, Texas—Glen Amburn, 88, died Sunday, February 9, 2014 in Tulia. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Ernie McGaughey officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Amburn was born July 20, 1925 in Floydada to Foster and Mariah Amburn. He grew up in Floydada and graduated from Floydada High School. He married Elizabeth Beedy on October 22, 1943 in Floydada. He worked for Kimball Optical there and KFLD Radio Station as a DJ. They moved to Tulia in 1961 where he worked for KTUE Radio Station as manager and Webb Optical. He was an avid ham radio operator and he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tulia. He is preceded in death by his parents: Foster and Mariah Amburn and one brother: Thomas Amburn. He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth Amburn of Tulia, three sons: Terry Amburn of Amarillo, Jay Amburn of Tulia and Ron Amburn of Walkerton, Ontario, Canada, one sister: Juanelle Taylor of Frisco, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
