Tulia, Texas—Gwendolyn Stephenson, 59, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 22, 2014 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview, Texas with Rev. Rusty Gray, pastor of Tulia Christian Fellowship of Tulia. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park. Viewing will be at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia until Saturday morning. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 21,2014 form 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home in Tulia. Gwendolyn Diane Stephenson was born October 10, 1954 in Hereford to James Clyde and Betty Jo Funderburk. She was a cosmetologist for JC Penney for years. She married to Max Barham on December 2, 1971, she then married David Wesley on June 2, 1977. She married James David Stephenson on February 22, 2002 in Clovis, NM. He died in 2012. She also worked for the American Legion Auxiliary in Plainview where she was a member. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: James Clyde Stephenson and one sister: Darla Denise Evans. She is survived by one daughter: Serena Newbold and husband Charles of Ruidoso, NM, three sons: Jaymes Barham of Bonham, Aaron Wesley and wife Betty of Tulia and David Justin Wesley of Plainview, one step-daughter: Bridget Marshall of San Antonio, one step-son: David Randall Stephenson and wife Lori of Davenport, Iowa, one brother: James Dwane Funderburk of Amarillo, one sister: Donna Hamner of Salpulpa, OK, fifteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Memorials may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary in Plainview.
